Marketing for a months-long purchase, made legible.

A car is researched for months, across search, configurators, third-party sites and the showroom, before anyone buys. Decifer connects that long, messy journey and shows where each model is winning or losing demand, and which leads and channels actually turn into sales.

The journey is months long and spread everywhere.

Buyers move between search, review sites, the configurator, the test drive and finance over weeks or months. Last-click attribution can't honestly describe a purchase that long, and lead volume can look healthy while lead quality quietly drops.

The result is that a model's softening demand often shows up only when the quarter closes. Watching the leading signals, and whether leads actually progress, is the part no monthly report does for you.

What we won't do

  • Treat last-click as the truth for a three-month purchase.
  • Promise a lead-to-sale lift without a test behind it.
  • Count a test-drive booking and a brochure download as equal.

The problems we solve here.

Sector-specific, and each one computed from your own connected data.

Demand by model, early

A leading indicator, before sales move

Search and configurator interest per model as an early read on demand, so a softening model surfaces weeks before it shows up in the sales numbers.

Lead quality, not just volume

Which leads actually progress

The sources producing leads that move toward a sale, separated from the sources producing leads that merely count, so spend follows quality.

Where the long journey breaks

Interest to showroom

The step between online interest and a showroom visit where a model loses the buyer, the part of a months-long path that a funnel of totals hides.

Organised by what matters to you.

Primary lens

Model

Decifer organises automotive by model and location. Demand, leads and spend roll up to the model and dealership you are accountable for, so a soft model is caught early, not at quarter close.

One decision, reasoned end to end.

The shape every decision takes in this sector: a measured signal, what changed, the move, and the figures behind it. The numbers below are illustrative.

Lead volume is steady, but one model's leads stopped progressing.

Illustrative

Signal

The flagship SUV's lead count is flat month on month, but the share of leads reaching a test-drive booking fell from 31% to 19%. Volume hid a quality drop.

What changed

On a volume dashboard the model looks fine. The leads still arrive. They simply stopped converting to the showroom, which points to a source, a price change or a competitor move, not a collapse in demand.

The move

  • Break the model's leads down by source to find which channel's quality fell.
  • Check for a recent price or incentive change on the model or a direct rival.
  • Weight spend toward the sources whose leads still progress.

Counting leads tells you the top of the funnel is alive. Watching whether they progress tells you whether the marketing is actually working. That is the number to manage.
